Terms of Service

By creating an account, accessing, or using HalalRishta (the "Service") you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. These Terms are a contract between you and HalalRishta.

1. Who can use HalalRishta

• You must be at least 18 years old. We enforce this in the app and on the server.
• You must be legally able to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
• You must not be on any sanctions list or barred from receiving our services under applicable law.
• You must not have been previously banned from the Service.

2. Purpose of the Service

HalalRishta exists to help adult Muslims find a spouse in a way that respects Islamic values. It is not a casual dating app, a hookup app, or a social network. Using the Service for anything other than seeking marriage is prohibited and grounds for immediate termination.

3. Your account

• Your profile must be honest. Real name, real age, real photos, real intentions. We verify identity with a live face scan.
• One account per person. Multiple accounts are not allowed and duplicates will be removed.
• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. You are responsible for anything done from your account.

4. Acceptable use

You will not:

• Use the Service to find anything other than a marriage partner.
• Send sexually explicit messages, photos, or voice notes. We moderate this aggressively.
• Harass, threaten, demean, stalk, or impersonate another user.
• Pose as someone else, use stolen photos, or use AI-generated photos in place of real ones.
• Solicit money, gifts, or favours from other users. Romance scammers will be banned and reported to law enforcement where applicable.
• Promote products, services, or businesses. This is a matrimonial app, not a marketplace.
• Try to bypass any verification, age gate, rate-limit, or security feature.
• Scrape, copy, or republish profile data outside the app.

Violating any of these is grounds for immediate, permanent account termination at our sole discretion.

5. Content you submit

Photos, voice notes, bio text, and messages are yours. By submitting them you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, transcode, transmit, display, and back them up only as needed to operate the Service. We never use your content for advertising or third-party purposes.

6. Reports, moderation, and bans

Any user can report another for breaking these Terms. Our moderation team reviews reports within 24 hours. We may suspend or ban accounts at our discretion. We are not obliged to give a reason, though we usually do.

7. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. See our Privacy Policy for what gets erased and on what schedule.

8. Disclaimers

HalalRishta is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or result in any match — let alone a marriage. We are a platform; the people you meet are themselves. Be sensible.

While we verify that users are real people, we don't do background checks. Always meet new people in public, tell a family member or wali, and trust your instincts.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll notify you in-app at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where HalalRishta is incorporated. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where local consumer protection law gives you the right to sue locally.
